The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced, at dawn on Thursday, that it directed a number of rocket fire at the cities of Tel Aviv, occupied Jerusalem, Ashdod, and Kiryat Gat (south of Tel Aviv), according to the Palestinian Maan News Agency.

In successive statements, Al-Qassam said that the bombing was part of a response to Israel’s continued bombing of civilian installations in the Gaza Strip.

The brigades did not specify the number or types of rockets they launched.

In a related context, Al-Qassam announced an upcoming speech by its spokesman, Abu Obeida, on Thursday afternoon, without further details.

Since Monday, the field escalation continues in the Gaza Strip, following the continuous Israeli bombardment, and the Palestinian resistance factions have responded by targeting Israeli cities and towns with rockets and missiles.

According to statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza left 67 martyrs, including 17 children and 6 women, while 388 others were wounded.

The situation in all the Palestinian territories has exploded as a result of “brutal” attacks committed by the police and Israeli settlers, since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, April 13th, in Jerusalem, especially the “Bab Al-Amoud” area, Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings, and the neighborhood of “Sheikh Jarrah.”
