The American Wall Street Journal touched on the impact of the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinians on the effectiveness of the Abrahamic Agreement, and the fears of a civil war.
The American newspaper said: “The images of explosive buildings in Gaza as a result of the Israeli air strikes, as well as the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam, stimulated a wave of pro-Palestinian protests throughout the Middle East and beyond, and a test of the limits of Arab governments’ relations with Israel.”
The newspaper added: “Israel was hoping that a set of diplomatic agreements reached last year, called the Abrahamic Agreements, would reshape its position in a region it had long avoided, thus helping the country to contain Iran and start establishing new trade relations. Its decades-long conflict with the Palestinians has returned to the forefront again. ”
