The director of the International Astronomy Center, Mohamed Shawkat Odeh, revealed that seeing the crescent of the month of Shawwal next Tuesday will be impossible because of the setting of the moon before the sun and because of the conjunction (the crescent is born) after sunset, and therefore many countries will complete several Ramadan, 30 days, and the day of Eid al-Fitr will be calculated Astronomy on Thursday, May 13th.

Al-Emarat Al-Youm newspaper quoted Odeh’s statements that the countries that started Ramadan on Wednesday 14 April will investigate the crescent moon on Wednesday 12 May, including: Brunei, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, the Sultanate of Oman, Morocco and many non-Arab Islamic African countries in Africa.

He pointed out that in the countries that will investigate the crescent on Wednesday, May 12, the sighting of the crescent will be possible using the telescope from the east of the Islamic world and the Arab countries in Asia and Europe.
