Apple has rolled out a new firmware update for the second-generation AirPods and AirPods Pro models, with the latest update – which carries firmware version 3E751 – coming nearly six months after the latest firmware update 3A283 was released in September.
Apple has not included any release notes for the update, so it is not clear what is new in this update, but AirPods users should note that there is no manual way to update the device as the firmware update is installed automatically when AirPods are connected via Bluetooth to an iPhone.
Users can check the firmware version of the AirPods by heading to the Settings app> Bluetooth> AirPods> the “i” icon> Firmware version. Earlier this week, Apple released a new software update for the iPhone, iPad, MacBooks and Apple Watch. And Apple TV all over the world.
IOS 14.5 comes packed with important features such as app tracking transparency, the ability to unlock an iPhone while wearing a mask using an Apple Watch, battery recalibration for iPhone 11 series, more than 200 new emoji, new sounds for Siri, support for AirTag and much more.
