Ashraf Tawfiq, coach of the basketball team at the former Al-Ahly club, confirmed that he bears responsibility for the team’s results recently, indicating that he felt unsuccessful, so he decided to resign and leave the team’s training.
Al-Ahly recently lost the Egypt Basketball Cup to Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, so Al-Ahly’s coach decided to resign.
Ashraf Tawfiq said in statements to “Yallakora”, “I am from the Al-Ahly club, a player and coach. I always learned that my relationship is direct with Al-Ahly without there being any mediator.”
He continued, “If I have taken this decision, this is to hold myself fully responsible, and in the interest of Al-Ahly Club first and foremost.”
“I feel unsuccessful,” he stressed.
He concluded, “I thank Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly, as well as the sporting activity in the club and the auxiliary apparatus and all the players. I wish Al-Ahly luck in the semi-finals of the Super League.”
Al-Ahly will face Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in the semi-finals of the Super League.
