Last April, the director’s film “The Gift” won Farah NabulsiA short film that depicts a day in the life of a father and daughter in the West Bank, the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA) for best Movie Short.
Nabulsi, the Palestinian-British director, accepted the award via video during the seventy-fourth annual British Academy Film Awards ceremony, which was broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall in London, and was conducted over two days due to Coronas measures.

The film, also nominated for an Oscar, follows Yusef, a Palestinian man and his daughter on their journey to purchase a wedding gift in the West Bank.
The film depicts their arrest at checkpoints, their clashes with IDF soldiers, and their travel on separate roads for the Palestinians.
“The gift” stars the well-known Palestinian actor, Saleh Bakri, and is the first film directed by Nabulsi.
Besides directing and producing the film, Nabulsi wrote the script with Hind Shoufani, the Palestinian-American poet and director.
The film won several awards at festivals including the “Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival”, the Brooklyn Film Festival, the International Short Film Festival in Palm Spring, and the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Who is Farah Nabulsi?
