Aswan Club treasurer Mohamed Sayed Hamed explained that there is no intention to cancel the current season after participating in the clubs’ meeting with the Football Association on Tuesday morning.

Sayed Hamed told FilGoal.com: “Al-Ahly and Zamalek did not attend the meeting, and Ahmed Mujahid, president of the federation, insisted on ending the season on September 30, and no match would be postponed or its places of residence would be changed.”

He noted, “He will end the league early on August 15th.”

He added, “Pyramids and Al-Ittihad refused to play the matches during the suspension in order for Egypt to participate in the Olympics.”

He continued, “The season is exhausting and long because the whole system is exhausting, and we will try to finish the season early in order to arrange the cards.”

He concluded, “We were told there was no intention to cancel the league.”

The Egyptian League has reached the 20th round of the competition, which begins Tuesday with a confrontation between the National Bank and El Entag El Harby.

Zamalek tops the standings with 41 points from 19 games, followed by Al-Ahly with 37 points from 17 games.

Al-Ahly had requested that two matches be postponed due to the pressure of the matches to a period of suspension during the Olympics, which was approved by the Egyptian Federation. (See the details)
