Al-Ahly’s board of directors, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, agreed to accept the resignation of Ashraf Tawfiq, the coach of the first basketball team (men) and his auxiliary apparatus.
The Council thanked Ashraf Tawfiq and his auxiliary apparatus for the last period, which he spent in a position of responsibility and exerted great effort in it, trying to achieve the best results.
The Board assigned Raouf Abdel Qader, Director General of the Sports Activity Department, to nominate the alternative and present it to the Board of Directors within the next 48 hours.

This came after the team lost the Egyptian Cup final to Al-Ittihad, 78-76, on Thursday.
Al-Ahly will search for a new coach, taking advantage of the current stoppage of local tournaments.
Local competitions were suspended due to Zamalek’s participation in the NBA-sponsored African Club Championship.
And it will resume in the Super League, in which Al-Ahly plays with Zamalek, Al-Ittihad and Al-Jazira.
