FilGoal | News | Capello: Mourinho is not enough to guarantee Roma a victory

Italian Fabio Capello believes that Jose Mourinho alone is not enough for Roma to win and the team needs two players.

On Tuesday, Rome announced the signing of Jose Mourinho for a period of three years, days after his departure from the leadership of Tottenham.

“Roma need more than Mourinho to win,” Capello told La Presse.

“The team also needs players,” he said, “hiring a great coach is not enough to win.”

Capello led Roma to win the Italian League in the 2000-2001 edition and the Italian Super Cup in the 2001-2002 season.

“Mourinho is a very reputable and experienced coach, and above all, he knows Italy well,” Capello added.

“So everything is much easier. I hope he does with the team as he did at Inter,” he concluded.

In the 2009-2010 season, Roma were the main contenders for Inter’s league title, and now Mourinho is the coach of the Wolves.

Mourinho led Inter between 2008 and 2010 in 108 wins in 67, lost 15 and drawn 26.

With the Nerazzurri shirt, he won 5 titles, including the historic trilogy, the League, Cup and Champions League 2009-2010.

Since then the Portuguese has led Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham before returning to Italy after 11 years.
