Suleiman said toFilGoal.com: “During the last period, Gomez received many offers because of what he presented with Simba in the CAF Champions League.”
He added: “This is normal according to his results with the team, but Gomez does not want to leave Simba.”
He stressed: “The management informed us that Gomez would remain at the club despite the many tempting offer that arrived, after he confirmed his happiness with Simba.”
He concluded: “Gomez aims to complete the season with the team and compete in the League and the African Champions League, and it is not a problem to renew his contract with Simba.”
Press reports have linked Gomez to coaching Maghreb Fez.
Gomez, 51, has coached Simba since last January, and led him to top his group in the CAF Champions League at the expense of Al-Ahly, and ousted Al-Merreikh – his former team – from the competition.
Simba will meet Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in the quarter-finals, and if he wins, he will face the winner from Mouloudia Algeria and Wydad Casablanca, Morocco.
Gomez has previously trained many African teams, the most important of which are: Ismaily, Cameroonian Cotton, Huria Guinean, Ethiopian Coffee, and Algerias Constantine Youth.
