Pyramids came out positively in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Championship, defeating Enyimba of Nigeria, 4-1.

The return match between the two teams will be held in Nigeria next Sunday, as the qualifier will ascend to face the winner of the Moroccan Raja and Orlando South African match.

Pyramids were late in the score early in the first minute, through Victor Mbomba, after a fatal mistake by Sherif Ikrami.

Pyramids defender Ahmed Sami returned the ball to Sherif Ikrami, who tried to dodge Mbomba but managed to extract the ball and score it inside the Pyramids net.

Pyramids tried to correct the matter quickly so that Enyimbas goal would not affect the team’s career in the Confederation Championship.

The Pyramids players dominated the ball but without real danger to Enyimbas goal.

In the 15th minute, Ramadan Sobhi managed to equalize after putting pressure on the Nigerian defense, taking advantage of Nelson Ogbonayas mistake and extracting the ball to hit the empty goal and score a draw.

Pyramids suffered again in the 21st minute, after Mohamed Farouk was injured and forced out to join Ahmed Tawfik instead.

Enyimba relied on counterattacks while Pyramids attacked the Nigerian team to score the second.

And in the 35th minute, Abdullah Al-Saeed sent a superb cross over the Enyimba goalkeeper, but it passed in front of Eric Traore’s head strangely.

Things changed in the second half and Ibrahim Adel participated in place of John Antwi, with an early attack from Pyramids that resulted in the lead goal from Abdullah Al-Saeed, who struck the ball in the 49th minute, with a wonderful ground to the left of the Enyimba goalkeeper.

Pyramids continued his attacks and missed the third goal in the 54th minute after a wonderful ground cross by Mohamed Hamdi, but Traore fired it into the body of Enyimba goalkeeper and reached Abdullah Al-Saeed, but he shot it over the crossbar.

Less than four minutes later, Ibrahim Adel scored a wonderful goal in the 58th minute of Ahmed Fathi’s cross, to turn it into the net with a superb scissor.

Pyramids completed his success with a fourth goal from a quick attack that reached Ramadan Sobhi in the 67th minute, and he preferred to pass it to Ibrahim Adel Al-Khal from the censorship and scored the fourth goal.

The match calmed down in the last 20 minutes after Pyramids secured their lead with a big score.

Pyramids are close to qualifying for the semi-finals after a positive result against Enyimba in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
