The Italian club Roma announced the appointment of Jose Mourinho as technical director of the team, starting from next season.

Roma had announced the dismissal of their coach Paulo Fonseca after the end of the current season.

A few days ago, the name of Mauricio Sarri appeared as the most prominent candidate to take over the task of coaching Roma next season, and he competed with Massimiliano Allegri, but he was not convinced of the project of the capitalist club.

In the 2009-2010 season, Roma were the main contenders for Inter’s league title, and now Mourinho is the coach of the Wolves.

Mourinho led Inter between 2008 and 2010 in 108 wins in 67, lost 15 and drawn 26.

With the Nerazzurri shirt, he won 5 titles, including the historic trilogy, the League, Cup and Champions League 2009-2010.

Since then the Portuguese has led Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham before returning to Italy after 11 years.

Jose Mourinho was sacked as coach of Tottenham last month in a trial that lasted a year and a half.

In the Portuguese’s last experience with the London Roosters, he led the team in 86 matches, winning 44, losing 23, drawing 19, without winning any title.

Returning to Rome, the separation from the Portuguese coach comes in light of the fluctuation of the team’s performance in the Italian league, as it ranks seventh in the standings.

The 48-year-old Portuguese coach has led the Wolves in 96 games in all competitions, winning 50, drawing 19 and losing 27.
