Cristiano Ronaldo scores and celebrates Juventus’ goal in Spezia

Andrea Pirlo, the Juventus coach, stressed that his team wanted to qualify for the Champions League next season at any price.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a double in the final minutes to lead Juventus to the victory over Udinese, and this victory led the Bianconeri to the 69th point, leveling with Atalanta and Milan.

“We made a great effort to achieve this victory, which is very important in view of the other results,” Pirlo said in comments, most notably his club’s website.

“We made things difficult for ourselves by losing our focus, but we showed a great desire to win, and that desire continued until the end,” he added.

He continued, “We know that we must qualify for the Champions League at any cost. Our team is strong and wants to achieve its goals.”

“The Udinese match should be a starting point because we have many important matches ahead of us,” he added.

“Congratulations to Inter and Antonio Conte on winning the league, they gave a great season and they deserved it.”

“For us, the series of 9 successive titles has ended and a new one has started. We want to fight for the Scudetto again.”

Nahuel Molina advanced to Udinese from a penalty kick in the 10th minute, then Ronaldo scored the equalizing goal in the 83rd minute with a penalty kick.

In the 89th minute, Ronaldo came back and scored the second goal after successfully turning Adrien Rabiot’s cross into the net.

The Juventus victory raised its score to 69 points to finish third, behind Atalanta, who has the same points balance but excels in direct confrontations and ranks second.

Juventus is also ahead of Milan, who also has 69 points, and ranks fourth.

Juventuss stumble would have made them ranked fifth in disqualification for the Champions League, but the Ronaldo double kept manager Andrea Pirlos hopes of qualifying for the European competition next season.

And Ronaldo strengthened his top scorer in the Italian League, reaching 27 goals.

Juventus conceded at least one goal for the tenth consecutive match, to be the second worst defensive era for the team since it had scored goals in 19 consecutive matches last season.

Juventus will play in the next round against Milan.
