El-Shennawi only fought the first 35 minutes against Enyimba of Nigeria in the second leg of the African Confederation Quarter, and Sherif Ikrami took part instead.
Al-Muniri explained through the club’s media center:Al-Shennawi had an x-ray during the past hours, which proved his injury to the front muscle of the second degree, as he needs about 10 days of treatment and rehabilitation before returning to participate naturally with the team in the next stage“.
He added, “A treatment and rehabilitation program has been set up for Ahmad Al-Shennawi, which he will undergo in the coming period in the hope of speeding up his return to matches, but he will not be able to participate in the next Ismaili match in the league.”
Al-Shennawi, 30, has played just two games this season in a Pyramids shirt.
Pyramids qualified for the Confederation semi-finals for the second consecutive season and hit a date with Moroccos Raja Casablanca.
