Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund – Manchester City
Raiola spoke to the Spanish newspaper AS today, Saturday, saying: “Real Madrid can sign Haaland.”
“Real Madrid have enough money to sign Haaland,” the Italian business agent concluded in his brief remarks.
It is noteworthy that Raiola had previously met with the presidents of Real Madrid and Barcelona, Florentino Perez and Juan Laporta, as part of negotiations over the ability of either of them to include Haaland in the upcoming summer transfer market.
Haaland had joined Dortmund from the ranks of Salzburg, Austria, in January 2020, for 20 million euros.
Haaland signed a contract linking him to the German club until the summer of 2024.
And some press reports indicated that Dortond would not let the 20-year-old Norwegian go with less than 150 million euros.
And a war of statements broke out earlier between Raiola and Michael Zork, CEO of Borussia Dortmund, due to Haaland’s move.
Zork said: “When we made a clear decision about Hallan, he will not leave the team no matter what the end of our season, Erling will remain with us.”
Some reports had stated that the Norwegian striker would leave the German club if he failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.
This was not the first time that Dortmund’s sporting director confirmed Haaland’s stay with the team, saying: “I want to say that we are committed to what we plan for next season. We have clear plans for Haaland to be with us next season.”
Raiola responded to him and said: “Michael Zork assured us that the club does not want to sell Haaland in the upcoming summer transfers, I respect that.”
Before he added, “But this does not mean my approval. Dortmund was clear in his vision, and we are fine with that.”
“There is no war between me and Dortmund,” the Italian players’ agent stressed. “The relationship between us is still good.”
