Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul will host the Champions League final on May 29 between Manchester City and Chelsea.

And Sky Sports revealed that there were talks between the British government and the European Union, UEFA, to move the venue of the match.

The British government is seeking to transfer the final match from Turkey to Wembley Stadium, especially since the final is between two English teams.

The report indicated that the request of the British government due to travel restrictions to Turkey, and Grant Shaps, Minister of Transport, asked the fans not to travel to Turkey and to communicate with UEFA through the Football Association.

Turkey is on the British government’s red list, which puts restrictions on those coming from it.

UK citizens returning from Red List countries are required to be quarantined in a government-approved hotel for a period of 10 days.

The report indicated that UEFA is studying all matters, whether by moving the match to Wembley, Portugal, or continuing as is the case.

UEFA is expected to make its final decision on the UEFA Champions League Final Stadium on Tuesday.

Manchester City qualified after overcoming Paris Saint-Germain, while Chelsea qualified via Real Madrid.
