The Egyptian Federation confirmed that its position on the tournament comes as an appreciation of its Arab dimension because it is held for the first time under the supervision of the International Federation of Football Associations, its technical importance and the interest of the Egyptian football fans in it, and it is held at a time appropriate to prepare for the first national team to participate in the African Nations Championship finals to be held in Cameroon in Next January, the month immediately following the Arab Championship.
The Egyptian Federation also received the matter of its Arab participation from the very beginning, to announce it with all appreciation and interest.
This was reflected in the formation of the Egyptian delegation participating in the championship draw ceremony headed by the president of the federation and accompanied by the director of the first national team, Mohamed Barakat. Hossam Al-Badri, the technical director of the first national team, was supposed to be in the delegation had it not been for his infection with the Corona virus, which prevented him from participating.
The draw resulted in Egypt falling into Group D next to the Algerian teams, the winner of the Lebanon match against Djibouti, and the winner of the Libya match against Sudan.
