In March of last year, Denny was infected with the Corona virus, and he was one of the most opposed to the return of football to life in June after a hiatus of about 3 months, fearing for the safety of the players.
“I was suffering from kidney problems and problems in the lower intestine. I was urinating blood too,” Denny said in statements to The Evening Standard.
“The Corona virus has torn my body apart,” he added.
The Watford attacker had to spend five days in hospital while he was being treated for the virus.
“The doctor used to tell me you don’t have an immune system,” he explained.
He continued, “I played several games with broken ribs or broken toes, but when I tried to train at home I failed to complete 15 minutes before I went to vomit.”
Despite the many injuries suffered by Denny, the 32-year-old managed to score seven goals in 18 games in all competitions this season.
And he succeeded Watford made a swift return to the Premier League after one season in the second division several rounds before the end of the season.
