This decision comes due to Al-Ahly and Zamalek holding the two titles for the 2018/2019 season.
The federation’s decision came in light of the preoccupation with the team’s preparations for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and limited time.
It was also decided that the Egyptian handball first camp, currently in Cairo, would continue until May 6 in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics 2021, while the presence of professional players in the camp continued until the last day of the international week to return to their European participation.
Ayman Salah, a member of the board of directors of the temporary committee, along with Asim al-Saadani, the supervisor of the national team, and Moamen Safa, a member of the committee, will complete the plan to prepare the team for the Olympics, with the development of the foreign camps program.
The handball team camp was launched on April 26, after the end of the local competitions, by sorting the men’s handball team in the Al-Ahly Club with the Egyptian Cup title for the local season 2020/2021 at Hassan Mostafa Hall, after beating its traditional rival Zamalek with a score of 23/26 in the final and Zamalek crowning a league title Professionals before it.
