Alaa Eid, head of the preventive medicine sector at the Ministry of Health, sent a message of reassurance to the Egyptians about the AstraZeneca vaccine after the recent smear campaigns that he was exposed to and accused him of causing clots.

“The AstraZeneca vaccine is one of the best vaccines against the Coronavirus and it is one of the most important vaccines because its price is reasonable and easy to transport and store,” Eid said, in a phone call to the “90 minutes” program on the “axis” satellite channel.

He added: “There is no causal relationship between the clots that occurred and the vaccine, and the Egyptian Society of Thrombosis and the World Health Organization confirmed the necessity of continuing to receive this vaccine, and the side effects that appear because of it are a normal thing and end within two days after taking the fever reducers.”

He emphasized that the effectiveness ratios of all the vaccines that were provided are good, close and safe, but there is no vaccine that protects 100% from infection, and this does not make us overlook the commitment to apply the precautionary measures, explaining that the antibodies are produced in the body, whether as a result of infection or taking a vaccine to prevent infection and this is a procedure Preventive prevents the occurrence of the disease and there is a demand for doctors to receive the vaccine.
