Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, said that additional precautionary measures have been taken for the Corona virus, with quarantine at all entry points to the country, in conjunction with the emergence of new virus mutations in a number of countries of the world.
This came during a meeting held by the Minister through the “call conference” technology, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah, Head of the Central Administration for Preventive Affairs, and a number of the Ministry’s leaders in quarantine and preventive medicine, to review the preventive and precautionary measures for Coronavirus. That is applied by quarantine in all ports of entry to the country.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Information and Awareness and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the minister confirmed the implementation of additional precautionary measures in quarantine at all entry points to the country (land, sea, and air), including a rapid DNA test (ID NOW), for all arrivals to the country. Whether for Egyptians or non-Egyptians from countries in which mutations of the virus have appeared, in addition to their ostensible examination and medical examination.
Mujahid added that the minister indicated that the rapid DNA examination is one of the modern technologies that is characterized by speed and accuracy in detecting injuries in a period not exceeding 15 minutes, and also confirmed the continued implementation of the Prime Minister’s decision regarding controls, procedures and health requirements for arrivals to Egypt.
