Dr. Tamer Maree, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in the Red Sea, announced the success of a medical team at Hurghada General Hospital in conducting a cesarean delivery for a woman infected with Coronavirus and carrying twins, who gave birth in the hospital and the condition of the mother and children are in good health.
The birth process took place under the supervision of a medical team specializing in infection control and strict precautionary and preventive measures and a medical team of obstetrics, anesthesia and pediatric specialists, and with the help of the nursing team, they are: –
Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Fahim, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology
Dr. Abdulaziz Mahmoud is a resident physician
Dr. Abdullah Jad is a resident physician
Dr. Islam Mohammed is a resident physician
Dr. Mustafa Abdullah is an anesthesiologist
Dr. Ahmed Fathy is a resident pediatrician
Mari confirmed that the mother and child are in good health and wellness, and this is the first case of a hospital birth of a woman infected with Corona virus carrying twins, indicating that the mother was placed in a separate isolation room, and medical care was provided to children under the supervision of a medical staff inside the hospital’s nursery, and they were subjected to care in the nursery department of the hospital. For note only, indicating that the operating room was disinfected before and after the operation, according to the precautionary and preventive measures followed in such cases.
He thanked all the medical staff at the hospital, including doctors, nurses, laboratory and radiology technicians.
