Leicester City tied its host Southampton 1/1 during the match that brought them together on Friday in the 34th round of the English Premier League.
In the 59th minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Southampton when Stuart Armstrong hit the ball from the edge of the penalty area and collided with Kelichi Iyanacho inside the penalty area, so the referee awarded a penalty kick that James Ward Brace successfully hit, scoring the goal in the 61st minute.
The equalizer for Leicester City came when Iyanacho crossed into the Southampton penalty area, and Johnny Evans rose to it and met it with a neat header to hug his goal.
The match saw Southampton’s Yannick Westergaard be sent off in the tenth minute after he had attracted Leicester City striker Jimmy Vardy, and he was the last defender of his team so that the referee was forced to show the red card.
Leicester raised its tally to 63 points in third place, and Southampton raised its tally to 37 points in fourteenth place.
