Referee expert Ahmed El-Shennawy said that referee Mohamed Maarouf made some mistakes that affected the outcome of the Al-Ahly match and Ghazl El-Mahalla, in the Egyptian Premier League competitions.
Al-Ahly lost its second match in the Premier League against Al-Mahalla, with a goal without response, in the matches of the 19th round of the competition.
“Al-Ahly deserved a clear penalty kick in favor of Muhammad Hani during the first half,” Al-Shennawi said through televised statements.
He explained: “The Mahalla defender did not use his shoulder, it might be legal, as well as blocking Muhammad Hani, and the kick was clear and he liked Maarouf to count it.”
He continued: “The goal scored by Ghazl Al-Mahalla is illegal, because the violation is not found on Al-Ahly defender Rami Rabiaa.”
