The Al-Ahly team will meet with its South African counterpart Sun Downs in the framework of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, after the red team and the South African team drew the lottery at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.
The South African “Citizen” newspaper said that Musimani is struggling to find a regular goal-scorer after Marwan Mohsen, Walter Bwalia, Salah Mohsen and Mohamed Sharif, Al-Ahly strikers, failed to solve the scoring crisis, especially as they are contributing to the goals so far.
The newspaper indicated that Musimani expressed his admiration for Peter Chaloulayel, especially since he scored 14 goals with his team so far and contributed 6 assists in 25 games in all competitions.
The 27-year-old made strong performances that caught the attention of the red genie towards him and placed him on the most wanted list in the upcoming transfers, as Peter Shaloulayel played 25 matches this season with Sun Downs in all competitions, during which he scored 14 goals and made 6 more for his colleagues.
Al-Ahly is seeking to contract with the player, to solve the crisis of the outspoken striker, after Congolese Walter Bwalya has failed to prove his worth so far with the team, as he only scored one goal in 14 matches he fought with the red team.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set a date for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League on May 14 or 15, while the return match will take place on Sunday 21 or 22 of the same month.
