The Professional League in Spain intends to investigate allegations that Barcelonas scorer Lionel Messi has violated the health protocols in place to combat the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Several media outlets reported that Messi invited his team-mates and their companions to a barbecue at his home following the victory over Valencia on Sunday.
While some saw that Messi began to feel happy again in Barcelona after trying to leave the Catalan club last year, the gathering of players drew criticism due to it being bad propaganda for the player and his guests.
The local government imposed restrictions banning gatherings of more than six people.
The Spain Professionals Association is studying the allegations against Messi to determine whether they violate health protocols.
The Spanish newspaper “ABC” reported that Barcelona denied the idea of violating health protocols due to the presence of all players in the same medical bubble on a daily basis.
