Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Information and Awareness and the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that the medical insurance plan includes payment of 2,190 equipped ambulances that are distributed on roads, highways, and main squares in the governorates, in addition to 11 water ambulances.
Mujahid added that the degree of preparedness has been raised to the utmost in all public, central and specific hospitals, and the presence of medical teams, including doctors, technicians, and nursing in hospitals’ emergency departments, has been intensified, in addition to holding the Crisis and Emergency Room at the Ministry’s General Office to follow up the implementation of the medical insurance plan around the clock.
Mujahid emphasized the availability of sufficient stocks of medicines and medical and preventive supplies in hospitals in all governorates of the Republic, pointing to the availability of adequate stocks of blood and its derivatives from all factions in the blood centers and banks affiliated to the Ministry in all governorates of the Republic, where blood balances amount to 94 thousand blood bags from different factions, and 17 thousand plasma bags, referring to the continuous coordination and communication between the ambulance and health affairs directorates in the governorates, in addition to allocating teams for rapid deployment with the aim of rapid intervention in the event of any emergency or accident.
Mujahid appealed again to citizens of the need to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures in conjunction with the state’s measures to combat the emerging corona virus, stressing the importance of adhering to wearing a mask, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, and being in well-ventilated places, in addition to the need to reduce home visits and family gatherings in order to preserve The health of all family members, and care must be taken to follow a healthy diet, which strengthens the immune system, such as eating healthy foods rich in vitamins and natural fibers.
Mujahid noted that the community communication teams continue to intensify awareness-raising and health education campaigns for citizens in various governorates at the level of the Republic, to spread awareness of precautionary and preventive measures for the Corona virus in conjunction with holidays and religious events, pointing to the need to go to the nearest hospital belonging to the Ministry of Health and Population in the governorate in case they feel any Symptoms of sickness from Corona virus, or calling the hotline (105) to receive inquiries, and he also stressed the importance of periodic follow-up of home isolation patients to their health status by sending text messages with the word “isolation” to the number (1440).
Within the framework of the ministry’s plan to prepare for Eid al-Fitr, Mujahid revealed that 223 tons and 897 kilograms of various food and drinks were seized and executed due to their unfit for human consumption, during several inspection campaigns launched by the General Administration for Food Control on food establishments in all governorates of the Republic, in the context of intensifying campaigns Inspection of food establishments and taking all precautionary measures to ensure the validity of food for human consumption and its conformity with standard specifications, in order to ensure the safety of citizens.
For his part, Dr. Alaa Eid, Head of Preventive Medicine Sector, explained that 2747 food establishments were passed through to ensure that they meet the health requirements that must be met, indicating that 6648 samples of various foods have been withdrawn to determine their suitability for human consumption, and sent for analysis by the central and regional laboratories of the Ministry of Health. And residents, in addition to closing 416 food establishments for violating health requirements, and 2,643 reports were drawn up regarding violations that were detected during traffic, in accordance with the laws and ministerial decisions in this regard.
Eid stressed the continuation of inspection campaigns and monitoring of food establishments and markets, to ensure food safety and to take all legal measures against violators in order to preserve the public health of citizens.
