Abdullah Jumaa, the left defender of Zamalek, apologized to Al-Ahly club and its fans for the famous video incident after the African Super match last season.
Zamalek was crowned champion of the African Super Cup at the expense of Tunisias Esperance, in a match held in the State of Qatar.
Abdullah Jumaa appeared in a video during his celebration with the Zamalek players, chanting the phrase “strike, my bad,” referring to the player’s goal in Al-Ahly’s net in the 2018 Africa Final.
“I am very shy, so I do not like appearing much in the media,” Abdullah Jumaa said in statements on MBC Egypt.
He continued, “I apologize to the Al-Ahly club and its fans. What happened was beyond my control.”
He added, “My first mistake, I apologize to Al-Ahly fans, from small to large. You are my brother, and I know that Al-Ahly fans love me.”
