Zamalek club escaped defeat by its guest Pyramids in the deadly time of the match that brought them together on Sunday evening, as part of the 19th round of the Egyptian Football Premier League.
Pyramids advanced with a goal scored by midfielder Abdullah Al-Saeed, in the 39th minute of the first half.
Moroccan striker Ashraf Bencharki responded with the equalizer for Zamalek, he scored from a penalty kick at the fatal time, when the match was taking its last breath at the Cairo International Stadium.
Zamalek raised its score after this draw to 41 points, and is at the top of the league, four points ahead of its traditional rivals and runner-up, Al-Ahly, who played three games less.
In contrast, Pyramids are ranked third in the league standings, with 31 points.
