Rolani Moccuena, the coach of the Sundowns team, stated about his team’s upcoming position against Al-Ahly, in the framework of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League competition.
The CAF Champions League draw resulted in a fiery confrontation between Al-Ahly and Sundowns, in the framework of the quarter-finals of the first African club competition.
The coach of the Sundowns said in statements via “Masrawy” today, Saturday: “Al-Ahly is playing this match and he has the incentive because he is the title holder, of course Al-Ahly has the incentive to reach the semi-finals.”
The Sundowns coach continued to talk about the draw, saying: “There were several possibilities, either to go to Egypt or Algeria. The quarter-finals teams are distinguished and have distinguished coaches.”
The Sundans coach added: “We are suffering from pressure because of the matches that we play in the coming period before facing Al-Ahly. The Champions League is complicated this season because of the many matches between Africa and the League.”
He pointed out: “What matters to us now is to focus on the quarter-final match, and which team we will face, we have to be strong and in the best case. We must focus and do our best to make the fans happy.”
He added, “We are looking forward to the Al-Ahly match and we want to do our best in order to qualify for the semi-finals.”
Regarding the South African coach Al-Ahly’s confrontation, Pitso Musimane, he replied: “Musimane is a distinguished and strong coach and we respect him very much. Personally, I was influenced by Museimani and the role he played with me, but I look forward to this match and we want to win it.”
The first leg will be held in Egypt on the 14th, 15th or 16th of next May, provided that the return match in South Africa will take place on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of the same month.
