French coach Patrice Carteron, coach of Zamalek’s first football team, attributed the reason for the decline in the performance of his players against Pyramids to the pressure of successive matches.

Zamalek tied with Pyramids to the same in the nineteenth round of the Premier League, at Cairo International Stadium.

“All players are fighting and it is difficult to maintain their level in light of the pressure of matches and play every 3 days,” Carteron said in statements to the press conference after the match, indicating that the opponent got a break from the previous match.

He added: “The participation of Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala made a difference for us and gave us the advantage and was a turning point. We had 6 chances achieved, but we scored one goal.”

He concluded: “Ahmed Sayed Zizou was angry after the match because of his wasting an opportunity, especially since it is not at its best levels, but I have confidence in the abilities of all players, stressing that the referee only counted a minute and a half of time instead of lost despite the re-kick.

Zamalek tops the Egyptian league table with 41 points, from 19 rounds, while Pyramids is in third place with 31 points.
