Yasser Radwan: Al-Ahly’s performance against Sun Downs is unconvincing … and the players’ consumption is the reason

Yasser Radwan, the former Al-Ahly star, believes that the performance of the red team against Sun Downs is not convincing to the masses, despite winning a double in the first leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals, stressing that only the result is what cured the players.

In a statement to Al-Youm Al-Sabea, Radwan said that the poor performance was due to the players ’consumption in the pressure of matches, especially that the red team fought the Derby match several days ago against Zamalek, and ended in a draw, which led to the players losing a large part of their physical fitness.

Radwan indicated that it is necessary to close the page of this match and prepare well for the first leg, especially that the opposing team is strong and able to return.

Al-Ahly scored a double, Taher Mohamed Taher and Salah Mohsen, and Al-Ahly will meet Sun Downs in the second leg in South Africa next Saturday.

Al-Ahly played the match with a formation consisting of: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Rami Rabiaa, Badr Bannon, Mohamed Hani, Ayman Ashraf, Amr Al-Soulia, Diang, Hussein Al-Shahat, Mohamed Magdy Qafsha, Taher Mohamed Taher, and Mohamed Sharif.

Although Al-Ahly won the African Champions League title, the performance was not good in most of the match, and Al-Ahly’s players appeared completely far from their level during many parts of the match, and Senegalese referee Nday appeared modestly, and refused to count two correct penalty kicks for Al-Ahly, as a result of roughness and obstruction of Mohammed Sheriff twice in the guest penalty area.

Junior Ajay participated after a period of absence in place of Taher Mohamed Taher and played in the 75th minute, and Bwalia and Mahmoud Wahid participated in place of Mohamed Sharif and Ayman Ashraf, and the last minutes witnessed a mutual attack.
