Six children were killed in a fire that broke out in a penal institution for juveniles in the Marg area, east of the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

And Egyptian media said that the Egyptian Public Prosecution is conducting investigations into the accident, which also injured about 20 others.

The causes of the accident were not yet clear, as the media said that preliminary investigations revealed that it was caused by an electrical short circuit that ignited in a heater for preparing tea inside the establishment, which caused a fire in a number of the contents of the ward, and resulted in the death of 6 children and the injury of others aged 12 1 year to 18 years old.

However, other media reports said that the fire broke out due to a quarrel between two children inside a dormitory in the institution, which caused chaos inside the place and the outbreak of the fire, which led to the death of the children.
