There are great doubts about the future of Ronald Koeman, as Juan Laporta intends to sack him from the team’s training, but so far he is unable to take that step, due to the penalty clause in his contract (13 million euros), as well as because of the lack of a distinguished alternative.
Laporta insists on returning to the tactical drawing 3/3/4:
According to the Spanish radio “Cadena Ser”, Juan Laporta stipulated that Ronald Koeman rely on the 3/3/4 plan during the next season, and stressed to him that this matter is not negotiable, as he set an example for the women’s team that succeeded in this tactical drawing.
Ronald Koeman explained his change of the drawing, with the players he possesses and the capabilities of each element of them, and also stressed that he is ready to return to the 3/3/4 plan if the club brings him the players he requests by name.
Barcelona have so far signed Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero from Manchester City, and Emerson from Real Betis, and are close to resolving the Memphis Depay and Giorgio Wijnaldum deals.
Press reports indicated that Juan Laporta decided to retain the services of Ronald Koeman for an additional season, especially since he has the support of the football director and chief contracting officer, Matteo Alemani, in addition to the sporting director, Ramon Blanes.
