German champions Bayern Munich announced on Friday the extension of the contract of its Cameroonian striker Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting until 2023.
Moting, 32, joined Bayern on a free transfer last year after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.
Motting is considered the substitute striker for Polish sniper Robert Lewandowski, and his original contract expired this month.
“My first year here was great, I want to continue the success with the team, I want to reach the German Cup final in Berlin and win the Champions League,” Motting said.
Moting made 32 appearances for Bayern last season, scoring nine goals.
“He is a very important player for us, he played well last season and scored many goals,” said Bayern board member Hasan Salihamidzic.
Besides his sporting potential, Maxime is also important to our team as a person, who will help us achieve our goals in the next two years.”
