The action and thriller Fast & Furious 9 has succeeded in achieving revenues of $ 250 million worldwide, since it was shown globally on May 25, with China taking the lion’s share of revenue with about $ 203 million.
According to a new report published by Variety newspaper, the ninth part of the Fast & Furious series succeeded in exceeding the expectations that were prepared in advance for revenues, as the film continues all revenues coinciding with the easing of precautionary measures implemented by some countries, after skipping the last wave of Corona.
In the latest revenue update in the Middle East, Fast & Furious 9 grossed $6.2 million, while it earned $8.2 million in Russia and $2.4 million in Hong Kong, in addition to IMAX’s $12.4 million, which is the second highest gross on Launch, as the only release with a higher IMAX total is “Captain America: Civil War,” which was released in 26 countries more than “F9” in its opening weekend.
While this start still leaves “F9” with a long way to go to reach $1 billion worldwide, Universal hopes other countries will recover enough from COVID-19 that theater restrictions are eased by the time the film expands in June. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 25, and will be released in major European regions in early July, according to the report published on the website “THE WRAP”.
