Ahmed El-Mohammadi, the former English player of Aston Villa and the Egyptian national team, praised Al-Ahly’s level against Tunisian Esperance and the victory achieved by the Red Team at Rades Stadium.
Al-Ahly defeated Esperance with a goal without a response, scored by Mohamed Sherif in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-final.
Al-Mohammadi said toFilGoal.comI salute all Al-Ahly players, without exception, because they played a great match and deservedly deserved victory at the expense of a strong team and a very stubborn opponent.
He added, “Al-Ahly’s scoring for an away goal gives the team an important advantage in the return match in Cairo, and the red team took a big step towards qualification, but so far it has not qualified.”
He continued, “It is credited to Al-Ahly players that their focus was not distracted despite the events that preceded the start of the match, and after the clashes between the security and the Esperance fans and the throwing of tear gas canisters.”
He continued, “Al-Ahly played with concentration and imposed its style on Esperance, completely controlling the course of the match and achieving a deserved victory.”
He praised Al-Ahly coach Pitsu Mosimane, saying: “Petso is one of the coaches who knows well how to win championships, and despite the criticism he is exposed to, but his response is always on the field and has so far been successful with Al-Ahly because he is a realistic coach and this is what the red team wants at the present time.”
Al-Mohammadi declared, “I have been Ahlawy since I was young and have been following all of Al-Ahly’s matches and I am happy with the team’s victory over Esperance, and I hope that the team’s successful march in the tournament will be completed by winning the tenth title, God willing.”
And about Mohamed Sharif, he said: “Sherif is a distinguished player with a great future awaiting him and he can easily professionalize in the English Premier League, and he reminds me of Emad Miteb.”
And he sent a message to Al-Ahly players, saying: “The first half in Rades is over, and there is a second half left in Cairo, and we must leave it with a clean sheet so that Al-Ahly qualifies for the final and is close to crowning the title.”
And he concluded his statements, “Al-Ahly is able to overcome any competitor in the final, but I hope that Kaizer Chiefs will be the opponent of the red team in the final to avoid a new Arab confrontation.”
