FilGoal | News | Devenza Central: Varane requires parity with Alaba to stay with Real Madrid

The Spanish network, “Defenza Central”, revealed that Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane wanted to equal David Alaba, the newcomer to the club, to extend his contract with the team.

Real Madrid announced the signing of David Alaba on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Bayern Munich.

Several reports had revealed Varane’s desire to leave the team in the summer transfer window because of his desire to take on a new challenge.

Some reports also revealed that Manchester United wanted to sign the French defender.

And the Spanish network said that Varane has not received an offer suitable for his desires so far, and he may consider extending his contract with Real Madrid, but by dividing his financial and sports appreciation correctly.

Varane believes that given his career and his titles with the club, he deserves to be equal with Alaba in salary or even to get a higher salary than him.

Varane is trying to get a salary of up to 11 million euros annually, which he has not reached so far, as he has an offer estimated at 9 million euros currently from one of the clubs whose name the report did not reveal.

Varane sees himself in the same position as Sergio Ramos, who does not wish to extend his contract with the club except on his own terms.

Real Madrid announced the official extension of the contracts of Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez.

The club is currently close to announcing the extension of the contracts of Nacho Fernandez and Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain.

Varane has been playing for Real Madrid since he joined in 2011 from France’s Lens.

The 28-year-old defender has won 18 trophies with Meringue so far.

Real Madrid went out last season without winning any championship and the team finished the Spanish League in second place behind Atletico Madrid.

Varane is preparing to participate with the French national team in the Euro 2020 tournament, after he was selected in the final list to participate in the tournament by the coach of the roosters, Didier Deschamps.

France were drawn into Group F along with Germany, Portugal and Hungary.
