Al-Ahly club received a letter from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirming the right of Ayman Ashraf, the team’s defender, to participate against Esperance of Tunisia.
This came in response to a letter from the parents, during which he inquired about the warning that Ayman Ashraf received in the African Super in front of the Moroccan Berkane Renaissance.
Is the warning added to his balance of warnings and affects the player’s participation in front of Esperance or not?
The CAF’s answer was that the Super Match is a separate tournament and does not affect the CAF Champions League warnings.
Al-Ahly will play against Esperance next Saturday in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League at Rades Stadium.
The return match will be held on June 26 at Al-Ahly We Al-Salam Stadium.
Esperance qualified for the semi-finals after overcoming Algerias Chabab Belouizdad, while Al-Ahly defeated South Africas Sundowns.
