Brescia, a club of the Italian second division, announced the appointment of Filippo Inzaghi as technical director of the team.
The club did not announce the term of the contract of the new coach.
Inzaghi, 47, led Benevento to the promotion of the Italian league last season, but he quickly returned to his place by relegating two rounds before the end of last season.
Inzaghi said on the club’s official website: “A new journey for me and I am happy and proud to join Brescia. I thank Massimo Cellino (club president) for giving me the opportunity and for showing great desire and confidence in me.”
“I’m excited and I will give my all for the group, which is important and full of history, proud of myself, the players and the club. Come on Brescia.”
It is expected that Inzaghi will hold a conference tomorrow to disclose all the details.
Brescia previously played in the 2019-2020 season in the Italian first division, but was relegated after only one season.
This will be Inzag’s fifth training experience after Milan, Venice, Bologna, Benevento and finally Brescia.
It is worth noting that Simone Inzaghi, the younger brother of Filippo, took over the Italian Inter coach after 5 seasons he spent in the Lazio shirt as a coach.
