The club wrote in an official statement that Paratici will be responsible for managing and developing the club’s sporting operations, facilities and infrastructure.
Paratici left after the end of the last season from his work as sporting director for Juventus, after he held the position for 11 years.
“I’ve known Fabio for several years and he brings with him a wealth of experience exploring youth and football operations, and has a proven track record of putting together competitive teams,” Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy told the club’s website.
“As we all know, Juventus have been a very successful team, and he has been an important part of that. He will be a great addition to the management. I am happy that he will lead the football team, and we are looking forward to next season.”
Paratici also told the club’s website, saying: “I am delighted with this wonderful opportunity and thank the club and the Chairman of the Board of Directors for their confidence in me. Tottenham is one of the great clubs in England and Europe. successful in the club’s history.
Paratici contributed to Juventus winning 19 trophies, during his tenure as the club’s sporting director.
Paratici’s first assignment as sporting director for Tottenham will be to sign a new coach, after the club’s former coach, Jose Mourinho.
Reports indicate that there are negotiations between the club and Paulo Fonseca, the former coach of Roma, to be the coach of Tottenham next season.
