Adrian’s contract with Liverpool was due to expire on June 30, and Liverpool did not mention the length of the contract extension.
Adrian told his club’s website: “I am very happy to be staying at the club. It is a reward from the club for the hard work I have done since I joined two years ago.”
“I really appreciate that trust from the club, the coach and everyone here,” the 34-year-old added.
The Spanish goalkeeper joined the Reds on a free transfer in the summer of 2019 and played 24 games in all competitions, winning the English Premier League, the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup.
He continued, “It is a pleasure to stay in Liverpool, it is very special for any player to stay here. I am lucky.”
Last season, Adrian played 6 matches for the Reds and came out with 3 clean sheets.
He continued, “I try to help the team every moment. I try to enjoy and benefit from my experience every second. I try to support and give confidence to these players in the dressing room and on the training ground every day. We always try to push each other.”
He continued, “When you give your best, the other gives his best. In the end it’s good for the club, the team and the coach as well to make the right decision.”
“I’m happy to try to get my chance and do my best when I get the chance,” Adrian added.
