FilGoal | News | Martinez: I still think Hazard will make the difference with Real Madrid

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has revealed his optimism about Eden Hazard’s condition and his return to his normal level.

“The biggest problem is that Eden was not in good shape, he came to a great club that he dreamed of so much, but he had to face something that never happened to him,” Martinez said in his statements to the American network “The Athletic”.

He stressed, “It was difficult on all levels, Eden is a player who depends on enjoying himself, until he shows his magic.”

He continued, “Since March, I have seen Hazard in his best medical condition, and this gives us hope that he will be important and happy on the field, that environment could be very useful for Hazard to perform at his best.”

“I still think it will make the difference with Real Madrid, but we have to find the problem, because all these injuries are not normal,” he added.

He explained, “You have a player who participated in eight seasons in the English Premier League and missed 20 games, in Madrid he could not even play 30% of the matches in two years.”

He concluded, “The problem is not the performance or the inappropriateness of the playing path, it is a matter of bad luck with injuries.”

Hazard participated in the last season with Real Madrid in only 21 matches between a starter and a substitute, during which he scored three goals and made only two goals.

Hazard is preparing to participate with the Belgium national team at Euro 2020, after he was selected in the final list by coach Roberto Martinez.

Belgium were placed in Group B along with Russia, Denmark and Finland.
