AS Roma have announced the extension of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract for a new season to play under Mourinhos leadership.
Mourinho took charge of Roma at the end of the current season, and reports indicated the possibility of Mkhitaryan’s departure due to a dispute with the Portuguese coach while they were at Manchester United.
“In these two years, I won Roma as a team and as a city thanks to the incredible passion of the fans,” Mkhitaryan said on the official Roma website.
“Roma is very ambitious and I am really proud to make my contribution to the challenges that lie ahead next season.”
Mkhitaryan’s contract with Roma expires at the end of June, with the possibility of another year extension.
Mkhitaryan agreed to extend his contract for a new season that ends at the end of June 2022.
Mkhitaryan had a strong season with Roma, as he scored 15 goals and assisted 13 others in 46 games with the team.
