“In the opening match, we expected a better match and a good result against strong Italy,” Jonosh said in the post-match press conference.

He added, “We conceded a goal in the second half and they outperformed us in general, both physically and technically. Our mistakes were costly. We regret the performance and the result. I was expecting better football, but that did not happen.”

He continued, “The journey will continue, whether we win or lose this match. We lost against the host team. We have two important matches, and we will return to work as soon as possible.”

He concluded, “Italy played well and used the field and the ball well. They outperformed us physically in the match.”

Italy topped the three points, while Turkey was at the bottom of the standings, and the Turks are preparing to face Wales in the second round on June 16.
