Garcia announces the handball squad for the Olympics camp


The Spanish national handball coach, Roberto Garcia Barrondo, announced the selection of 20 players for the national team’s list in preparation for the Olympic Games to be hosted by Tokyo, starting from July 23, hours before the team travels to Spain on Saturday to enter an external camp, during which it will play two matches with Croatia and Spain.

The list was as follows:

Goalkeepers: Karim Hindawi – Mohamed Essam Al-Tayyar – Mohamed Ali.

Left wing: Omar Al-Wakeel Bakkar – Ahmed Moamen Safa

Left-back: Ali Zain – Yahya Al Deraa – Hassan Walid Qaddah

Playmaker: Ahmed Hesham El-Sayed “Dodo” – Ahmed Khairy – Saif Al-Dara

Right wing: Muhammad Sanad – Akram Yousry

Right-back: Ahmed Al-Ahmar – Yahya Khaled – Mohsen Ramadan

Circle: Muhammad Mamdouh Hashem – Ibrahim Al-Masry – Wissam Nawar – Ahmed Adel

The team is scheduled to enter two other camps in France and Germany, after which the coach will choose the final list that will participate in the Olympics, which will include 14 players in addition to a reserve player who will travel with the mission, and five players will remain in Egypt ready to travel in the event of any emergency.

The handball team will start its confrontations with the Olympics at 12:30 noon on July 24 against Portugal, where the Pharaohs group also includes the teams of Denmark, Japan, Sweden and Bahrain.
