The first football team in Al-Ahly club returned to continue its training in preparation for the first and second leg matches in the African Champions League semi-final against Esperance of Tunisia.
The team will play a friendly match this evening, Thursday, against Al Sharq Insurance, in order to prepare more for the next two Esperance matches.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the details of the matches between Al-Ahly and Esperance in the semi-finals, as the first leg will be held at six o’clock in the evening, Cairo time, on June 19, at Rades Stadium.
As for the return match, it will be held at Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo on the 26th of the same month at nine oclock in the evening.
It is worth noting that the Confederation of African Football’s Disciplinary Committee decided to ban Taha Yassin Khenissi, the Tunisian Esperance striker, for 12 months, before facing Al-Ahly in the Champions League semi-final.
The CAF statement issued on Wednesday evening added: “The player Taha Yassin Khenissi tested positive for a banned substance from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) during the Champions League match between his team against Mouloudia Algiers on May 10, 2021.”
