Mahmoud Morsi refused to participate in the movie “Bab Al-Hadid”


Art historian Mohamed Shawky revealed the film that the late artist Mahmoud Morsi refused to participate in with the artist Hind Rostom.

Shawky said during his interview with the “Akher Al-Nahar” program broadcast on Al-Nahar channel, that he refused to participate with director Youssef Chahine in 1958 in the movie “Bab Al-Hadid”.

He explained that the producer at that time offered Mahmoud Morsi 100 pounds, and refused it because the artist Hind Rostom was paid 300 pounds for her role in the same movie.

Mohamed Shawky pointed out that the starring of the film Bab El Hadid went to the artist “Farid Shawky”.

Shawky explained that the artist, Mahmoud Morsi, presented 6 films in which he was among the list of the 100 most important films in the history of Egyptian cinema.
