Metwally gets injured 40 minutes after his return

Mahmoud Metwally, Al-Ahly’s defender, was injured in the match against Egypt for Insurance in the international break, as the team prepares to face Esperance in the Champions League semi-final.

Mahmoud Metwally played a key role in the match during the player’s first appearance after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury last season.

Metwally left the match stadium in the 40th minute without interference from the opponent, as he indicated to the team doctor the injury site in the posterior muscle of his left leg.

Metwally sustained a cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during the Aswan match last season, in August 2020.
