Veteran Spanish star Rafael Nadal continued his campaign to consolidate his record as the most decorated player in the men’s singles competitions at the French Open (Roland Garros), the second of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
Nadal qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament, which he is seeking to crown for the fourteenth time in his career, after defeating Argentine Diego Schwartzman, the tenth seed of the tournament, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6/0 in the quarter-finals of the tournament today, Wednesday.
Nadal needed two hours and 45 minutes to win the match against his Argentine opponent.
Nadal, the third seed, will meet in the competition’s semi-finals with the winner of the match between Serbian Novak Djokovic, the first seed of the competition, and Italian Matteo Bertini, which will take place later today.
